We are among the largest employers in the region, bringing income to the populations of Cocos/BA, Mambaí/GO and other centers in the surrounding area. We are proud to collaborate with various actions in the municipalities and communities located within the productive areas.
We carry out training actions in the communities, we support health initiatives, we also offer environmental awareness and collaboration for schools, with structures and donations, as well as actions carried out continuous on commemorative dates.
Aligned with the SDGs of Zero Hunger and Sustainable Agriculture (SDGs 2), Health and Welfare (SDGs 3), Quality Education (SDGs4) and Decent Work and Sustainable Production Growth (SDGs 12), we seek to contribute to improving the quality of life of communities, the adoption of sustainable practices and the delivery of own livelihoods.
Therefore, together with the municipality of Cocos (BA), we benefit the communities located within and near our productive areas, with the delivery of energy through the Rural Electrification project, signed by the city with Coelba (Bahia State Electricity Company), Eletrobras and the Ministry of Mines and Energy, transportation and ease of access.
In addition, since 2018, we have continued to invest in the recovery of local roads. In the first year, we recovered 17 km and financed the recovery of more than 63 km of road between the municipalities of Cocos to the border with Mambaí (GO). In 2019, in partnership with the municipality of Cocos, we recovered another 35 km of roads that benefited local communities in their displacement to the central region of the municipality.
Finally, in the area of education, we promote, in partnership with the City Hall and SENAI, and through our Program Embrace Cocos, training courses and training for the community.
We support and promote prevention campaigns for all local residents. For those who need medical care, we provide transportation, regardless of the day, to and from post-discharge and/or care to Mambaí (GO) or Cocos (BA). We conduct and encourage vaccination campaigns and affirmative actions related to the prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer in communities.
We believe in a joint growth with the municipality of Cocos. Committed to community development, we created the Abrace Cocos project. These are training, development, well-being and health actions, carried out in partnership with the local municipality, for more than 250 families.
Qualification and training courses, provided by SENAI, such as Tractor Operator, Harvester Operator, Administrative Assistant, Bakery Assistant, Motorcycle Mechanic, Installation and Maintenance of Air Conditioning, among others, are among the initiatives.
We implement initiatives to optimize water consumption and preserve water resources, through investment in efficient production systems. We promote conservation initiatives that guarantee 100% of the efficient use of water and preservation of water resources, such as: efficient method of application to crops to reduce water consumption; rainfall measurement, level curves, no-tillage and relay in the irrigation of planted areas.
To manage our interaction with the environment, we use the reverse logistics process, recycling materials and defensive packaging. We have also renewed our fleet of machinery and vehicles to reduce fossil fuel consumption.
Since our foundation, we have adopted sustainable practices, based on respect for the environment. Because we preserve the ripiary forests, our area is delimited as an environmental reserve area. In addition, we also guarantee the perfority of the rivers present in the properties.
